St. Patrick's Day Parade

On Saturday, March 13, at 10AM, on Main Street in Downtown Ventura, we will show our ♥ for Google at the annual St. Patrick's Day Parade. The local media will be covering this event, and looking for Ventura's enthusiasm for Google in the crowds. CAPS-TV will be in front of Dargans on Chestnut and Main, so we would encourage people to stand on the opposite side of the street by Watermark. Be there!

Signs have been printed and will be made available (stay tuned for where to find them) or you can download this PDF (click the image below) and print one out yourself!

I See Google! In Ventura!

So here's the idea: we take our Google Fiber logo out and about in our fair city, and snap pictures of it in various places. If you're one of those people who doesn't have a printer, we're working on getting some printed copies out in some key locations, but if you do have a printer (and a camera), please join us in showing Google that Ventura is (a) gorgeous, and (b) really excited about Fiber!

Since I'm "one of those people without a printer," here's a badly-photoshopped example of what we have in mind:

Google's Official blog post offers insight into the "Think Big with a Gig" program:

Imagine sitting in a rural health clinic, streaming three-dimensional medical imaging over the web and discussing a unique condition with a specialist in New York. Or downloading a high-definition, full-length feature film in less than five minutes. Or collaborating with classmates around the world while watching live 3-D video of a university lecture. Universal, ultra high-speed Internet access will make all this and more possible.
